The medium has a developed internal pore structure with tortuous channels, enabling physical interception, adsorption, and bridging effects to capture micro-particles as small as a few microns or even sub-microns. The fluid slowly penetrates the medium layer, with full contact between impurity particles and the medium surface, ensuring thorough removal of fine contaminants. This process strictly controls the fluid residence time to balance filtration efficiency and flow rate; too fast a flow reduces impurity removal rate, while too slow reduces treatment capacity.
